Garvis Wright and Glaser Named 2024 “Top Women Lawyers” by Daily Journal
Glaser Weil is pleased to announce that Kerry Garvis Wright and Patricia L. Glaser have been recognized among the Daily Journal’s 2024 “Top Women Lawyers.” The annual feature is a prestigious recognition of the top women lawyers practicing in California.
Kerry Garvis Wright chairs the Employment Practice and is widely recognized for her experience representing employers and employees in high-stakes litigation, having first- and second-chaired dozens of jury trials and arbitrations involving claims of workplace discrimination, harassment, whistleblower and other retaliation claims. Her Daily Journal profile covered what drew her to employment law – “the interpersonal dynamics and psychology at play that are not often present in commercial litigation” and the opportunity to “strategize closely with the client to try to avoid or solve complex problems before there is litigation.” It cited her emergence as a leader in the Firm, recent significant cases and her appreciation to work at a company with powerful female lawyers at the helm.
Patricia L. Glaser chairs the Litigation Department and tops the short list of trial attorneys in the nation who are sought after for high-stakes litigation. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies, major studios, real estate investors and developers, financial institutions and high-profile entertainers and public figures. Glaser’s Daily Journal profile highlighted how busy the Firm’s Litigation Department has been and the diversity of cases covered by the 50-plus lawyers. In speaking of some of her most notable recent cases, Glaser noted her part in defending the Simon Wiesenthal Center against a $4.8 billion defamation suit. “It’s a very important and worthwhile case, and we were fortunate,” she said. “I get the accolades, [but] I have a great team here.”
