Glaser Weil Litigator Peter Sheridan Named to the Irish Legal 100 for the Third Consecutive Year

Glaser Weil Partner Peter Sheridan, Chair of the Firm’s Construction Law Practice Group, was named to the Irish Legal 100 for the third year in a row and accepted his award at a reception hosted by the Consul General of Ireland Barbara Jones in New York City on December 9, 2015. The Irish Legal 100 is published by Irish Voice, and has been awarded to Irish American judges and lawyers since 2008. The criteria for this award is based on the accomplishments and distinguished service of the nominee to the law profession. Mr. Sheridan’s inclusion places him among the very best lawyers, judges and law professionals of Irish descent in the United States.

This year’s Irish Legal 100 includes US Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts and Associate Justice Anthony Kennedy, the U.S. Ambassador to Ireland Kevin O’Malley, numerous other federal and state court judges, legal and business leaders from insurance, financial, energy and manufacturing companies around the world, and presidents, deans and professors at some of the most prestigious Universities and Law Schools in the world.

Mr. Sheridan and his experienced Construction Law Practice Group at Glaser Weil – including colleagues Pete Slevin, Mark Barshop, Saul Breskal and Ken Whiting – have a winning track record resulting from the hard work necessary to succeed in these complex matters. Mr. Sheridan’s focus on construction has also allowed him to develop a specialty in construction disputes involving hotels, casinos and resorts, such as the Bacara Resort and Spa in Santa Barbara, Diamond Resorts in Kaanapali, Maui and Poipu, Kauai, City Center in Las Vegas, mega-resort Baha Mar in Nassau, Bahamas, and La Quinta Resort in La Quinta, California. Successes for resort owners in these locales, as well as for owners and architects of multi-billion dollar airport and other projects, continue to demonstrate how critical it is for clients to choose the hardest working legal team in the business. 

While Mr. Sheridan focuses primarily on construction law, he and his team also handle eminent domain and inverse condemnation cases, among many other disputes he is asked to litigate for his diverse clientele.

Mr. Sheridan traces his roots back five generations to County Cavan, Ireland, from which his ancestors emigrated to New York in the early 1800s and then on to Iowa later in the century.
