Glaser Weil’s Julie R. F. Gerchik Recognized Among “Women of Influence” By the Los Angeles Business Journal
Glaser Weil LLP is pleased to announce that Julie R. F. Gerchik has been honored among the “Women of Influence” by the Los Angeles Business Journal. The top-tier business publication selected Ms. Gerchik for her dedication to the legal field and contributions and impact to the community.
Ms. Gerchik is a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, focusing her practice on all types of complex matters including financial institution matters, securities litigation and regulatory matters, real estate and developer disputes, internal investigations, and entertainment, employment, technology, and IP matters. Additionally, she chairs the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee (DE&I), and co-chairs the Pro Bono Committee, where she helps spearhead the firm’s pro bono efforts which are considerable for a mid-size Firm.
Under Ms. Gerchik’s leadership, the DE&I has hosted a number of diverse intra-firm cultural events geared toward education; has created its own monthly news brief to further educate members of the firm on culturally impactful events and people; has authored both a definitive external and internal anti-racist statement on behalf of the firm; hosted its first panel in a series of diversity webinars aimed at clients and the outside legal and business community generally; has started the internal DE&I Book Club to collectively read and discuss racially/culturally sensitive issues; and hosted a virtual lunch, in which we invited recruiters focused on diverse and inclusive hiring and introduced our committee and its efforts.
Ms. Gerchik is very involved in the legal community and beyond. Previously, Ms. Gerchik was on the LACBA-WLALA Joint Task Force on the Retention and Promotion of Women Lawyers, and was also the Co-Chair of the junior Board of Directors for Bet Tzedek and has remained an enthusiastic supporter of this wonderful public interest organization. Currently, Ms. Gerchik is also a member of the American Bar Association, Litigation Section, and the Association of Business Trial Lawyers.
