Patricia Glaser Named to the Hollywood Reporter's "Power Lawyers 2016: Hollywood’s Top 100 Attorneys"
Glaser Weil Partner and Litigation Department Chair Patricia Glaser has been recognized again as one of The Hollywood Reporter's Top 100 Attorneys in its "Power Lawyers 2016" feature profiling the most influential attorneys in entertainment and media.
To identify Hollywood’s 100 top legal minds, The Hollywood Reporter researches the biggest deals and legal cases of the past year. Lawyers are identified as talent, corporate, or studio dealmakers, litigators, technology attorneys or troubleshooters for divorce and criminal matters. Attorneys are subsequently evaluated against their peers based on cases won, the nature of deals closed, clients advised, along with their individual reputations within the entertainment legal community.
In Ms. Glaser’s profile, The Hollywood Reporter discussed her representation of Morgan Creek in a $10 million breach of contract suit against Emmett Furla Oasis Films concerning the production of a film based on the life of Tupac Shakur. The publication also highlighted Ms. Glaser’s work in securing a complete dismissal of a case for an entertainment executive falsely accused of sexual assault. In a subsequent malicious prosecution countersuit, two of three defendants settled with Ms. Glaser’s client, paid monetary damages and provided a written apology to him. The suit against the third defendant, which includes claims for abuse of process, malicious prosecution, defamation and various related claims, is still ongoing.
