Glaser Weil Expands San Diego Office With Arrival of Renowned Litigator Joseph Leventhal

San Diego, March 4, 2024 — Glaser Weil announced today that Joseph Leventhal has joined the Firm as head of litigation for the San Diego office. With an impressive track record in litigation, public service and community leadership, Leventhal brings his wealth of experience to Glaser Weil’s thriving San Diego team.

Leventhal is renowned for his extensive trial experience in state and federal courts, representing clients across diverse industries. Noteworthy accomplishments include leading Milacron to victory in an eight-day federal jury trial, successfully defending against a $23 million breach of contract lawsuit and securing a counterclaim award. He also overturned sanctions against a global logistics company after an appeal to the 9th Circuit. Leventhal achieved a judgment in favor of a real estate developer and owners’ association, resolving claims of fraud, breach of contract and RICO, and securing attorneys’ fees. Additionally, he played a key role in a cybersecurity dispute, resulting in the minority member relinquishing interest and agreeing to a multiyear noncompetition agreement.

Leventhal is a leader who is actively involved in the legal and broader San Diego communities. He currently serves as a national director for the Federal Bar Association; holds positions on the Southern District of California’s Standing Committee on Discipline, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce’s public policy committee, the board of directors of St. Vincent de Paul’s Village, and the national board of directors and the San Diego steering committee for Just the Beginning; and is a member of the Rancho Bernardo Rotary Club. He previously served as a commissioner on the City of San Diego Ethics Commission, among other organizations dedicated to community service and legal excellence.

Leventhal is the latest addition to Glaser Weil’s growing roster of talent, including Elizabeth Sperling, Jeff Joyner, Emil Petrossian and Marc Indeglia.

Prior to joining Glaser Weil, Leventhal was the managing partner of the San Diego office of a large national law firm. Earlier in his career, he served as deputy assistant to a former vice president of the United States. Leventhal received his J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from the University of California, San Diego.
