Glaser Weil Represents EarthGrid in Groundbreaking Joint Venture with EnerTech, Enables $18B in U.S. Infrastructure Projects with 100 GW of Renewable Energy
Glaser Weil is thrilled to announce its representation of EarthGrid, a Bay-area plasma tunnel-boring technology and infrastructure development company, in its joint venture agreement with EnerTech, an entity owned by the Kuwait Investment Authority, one of the world's oldest and largest sovereign wealth funds, to deploy infrastructure projects in four phases across the United States, Europe and the Middle East. The first two phases consist of approximately $18 billion in U.S. infrastructure improvement projects.
The deal will enable more than 100 gigawatts of new renewable energy to be added in the U.S. alone. The joint venture will create a network of underground tunnels that will significantly upgrade the power grid and fiber networks, accelerating the country’s transition to clean power.
The Glaser Weil team was led by Partner Jeff Joyner, who managed an international team of attorneys and advisors and played a key role in executing the deal through his extensive experience as a leader in sustainability. “I am grateful for Jeff’s partnership and counsel on this deal,” shared Troy Helming, EarthGrid founder and CEO. “He has a distinct ability to manifest projects by converting business and legal risks to transactions that achieve his client’s goals while also making an impact on society.”
The team also included partners Aman Badyal, Brett Cohen, Jason Grinnell, Thomas Hanley, Marc Indeglia, Peter Sheridan and Jeffrey Soza, and associates Gabriel Kiss, Lara Petersen, Tigran Samvelyan and Josephine Wu.
