Thomas F. Hanley III Joins Glaser Weil as Real Estate Partner

Hanley focuses his practice on advising investors, lenders, property owners, and developers in all aspects of purchases, sales, financings, lease agreements, and joint ventures. He has counseled clients on hundreds of properties ranging from office and retail to multifamily, and mixed-use projects.

Additionally, he handles matters involving restructuring loan agreements, real estate workouts, negotiating prebankruptcy settlements, and coordinating regulatory compliance. Hanley also represents commercial lenders in real estate financings and has also been involved in numerous real property asset portfolio acquisitions and dispositions.

With a multi-faceted and remarkable resume, his career includes not only legal work, but historic international dealings. Prior to becoming an attorney, Hanley served as a peace negotiator during the conflict in Bosnia in the mid-1990s and successfully negotiated a cease-fire for the war. He was also the original architect of the American Plan, which became the basis for the Dayton Accords that ended the war.

Hanley earned his J.D. from Southwestern University cum laude. As an undergraduate, he received his B.B.A. from Loyola Marymount University.
