Glaser Weil Secures $14M+ Jury Verdict in High-Stakes Construction Dispute
Glaser Weil is proud to announce a major trial victory on behalf of a real estate investment company in the New York Supreme Court.
Following a multi-week jury trial, Partner Jesse Levin led the Firm in securing a unanimous verdict awarding $8 million in damages (more than $14 million with interest)—the full amount asked for—for claims of breach of contract and tortious interference. The jury also found the individual defendant personally liable under an alter ego theory—an exceptional result under New York law with an extraordinarily high evidentiary bar.
The dispute arose from the failed construction of a luxury gym project in Manhattan. Glaser Weil was brought in at the trial phase and served as lead trial counsel, with Levin leading the effort alongside Paralegal Rebecca Feldman. The trial team was supported by local counsel Latisha Thompson of Morrison Cohen LLP. Partner Patricia Glaser and Associate Alaina Bird also provided critical support on the matter, which spanned several years.
This win reflects Glaser Weil’s ability to deliver outstanding results in high-stakes, complex commercial matters—especially when brought in at critical trial stages.
