Alex Brizolis is a partner in Glaser Weil’s San Diego office and a seasoned litigator with extensive experience in complex business and real estate litigation. Alex’s practice spans state and federal courts, as well as arbitration, where he represents clients in high-stakes disputes involving fraud, unfair competition, breach of contract, business interference, partnership disputes, business divorce and corporate control matters.

Prior to joining Glaser Weil, Alex was a partner at an AmLaw 200 San Diego-based law firm. Earlier in his career, he practiced at a Southern California litigation boutique and served as a Deputy City Attorney, where he gained valuable experience in public sector legal matters.

Alex’s notable experience includes his representation of:

  • An individual client and a company in winning an emergency arbitration related to a breach of settlement agreement and a breach of fiduciary duty, obtaining injunctive relief and damages.*
  • An individual client in a week-long bench trial defeating claims for breach of CC&Rs and nuisance concerning residential real estate in San Diego and obtaining prevailing party attorneys’ fees (on appeal).*
  • A corporate client/seller in a week-long arbitration defeating claims by a buyer for specific performance and a breach of contract related to the sale of commercial real estate in Los Angeles, obtaining prevailing party attorneys’ fees .*
  • Individual clients in a seven-week-long bench trial regarding a partnership dispute over a San Diego commercial real estate portfolio.*
  • A corporate client/landlord in prevailing on a demurrer without leave to amend based on a tenant’s claims to invalidate certain provisions of the lease agreements (on appeal).*
  • Individual and corporate clients in prevailing on a motion to dismiss without leave to amend and defeating claims of housing discrimination, fraud and other federal and state statutory violations.*
  • Individual and corporate clients in winning summary judgment on a matter related to unfair lending practices and alleged fraud.*
  • A government entity client as part of a trial team that secured a $26 million settlement in fraud, California False Claims Act and breach of contract litigation against a multi-billion-dollar foreign software company.*
  • Orange County in preparing a successful briefing on a petition for writ of mandamus that reinstated a client’s right to a jury trial in In re County of Orange, 784 F.3d 520 (9th Cir. 2015), cert. denied 136 S.Ct. 808.*
  • A charter school client in winning a binding, emergency arbitration compelling a former officer to return trade secrets and other materials.*
  • A national trucking company in winning a binding arbitration award on a motion to dismiss a former employee’s lawsuit alleging various claims based upon intentional and negligent misrepresentation.*
